Manager, Product Management [Germany]


 
Overview:
As a Manager in the Product Management team, you will deliver value to clients via improvements to our SaaS offerings while also managing other Product team members for the BaseCase product portfolio.

Specifically, you will identify problems and opportunities to direct our engineering R&D efforts at the improvements that create the most value—optimizing complex trade-offs in the process—and delegate to and oversee others for key parts of these opportunities across the product delivery and customer experience lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will create impact, setting goals in terms of outcomes and KPIs, at the feature level for the roadmap for an existing product. You will typically drive work for 3-5 engineers, while directly overseeing your own analysts and support staff.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct extensive research and gather intel, including from direct user interviews, product usage data, market trends, and competitive threats.
  • Use instincts, data, and industry sense to propose valuable product experiences; act as—or shadow—a SME (Subject Matter Experts) user advocate to ensure product-market fit with your niche.
  • Lead successful (biannual) releases; make wise tradeoffs given the constraints and architecture of the software product, negotiating for the best scope, quality, and time outcome for a release.
  • Place “bets” on new features in existing products, with informed ROI estimates; assess the outcome of those investments against KPIs and success measures.
  • Enables sales via thoughtful market segmentation, with duties that extend to feature launch plans, pre-sales support, conference attendance, and thought leadership.
  • Receive (and contribute to) the overall Certara Software vision from executive leaders and translate it into actionable, achievable goals for yourself and others.
  • For the Product team itself, documents and improve existing processes while also contributing to new ones that benefit the broader Product team.
  • For any direct reports, assign them fitting challenges, develop their careers towards continual growth, and coach them towards personal and professional success.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Product Manager or equivalent position
  • Education related to business, programming, data science, health sciences, medical writing, customer support, project management, or corporate communications
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products with strong business acumen
  • Excellent teamwork skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Experience working with senior leadership with the ability to develop relationships at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to travel
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience:
  • Familiarity with the life sciences domain, spanning from clinical trials to regulatory submission, to value communications and marketing
  • Ability to work in a hybrid/remote position requiring constant spoken and written communication
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders without managerial authority
  • Experience working for a software-as-a-service (SaaS) vendor, clinical laboratory, pharmaceutical company, or Contract Research Organization (CRO)
