KYPHA members will serve in any or all of the following core public health programs: WIC: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides: Nutrition counseling, Healthy foods, Breastfeeding support, Referrals to other resources. WIC is important because healthy foods help children grow and develop normally and good nutrition helps protect your family against health problems. HANDS: HANDS is a voluntary home visitation program for moms, dads and families. HANDS answers questions and provides parents with support in developing a parent-child relationship, at no cost to the family. Harm Reduction: Harm Reduction Syringe Service Programs (HRSSP) are community-based programs that provide access to sterile needles and syringes, safe disposal of used syringes, and other comprehensive harm reduction services.



Member Duties : KYPHA member will serve directly in a Local Health Department in Kentucky in WIC, HANDS, and/or Harm Reduction programs.


Program Benefits : Education award upon successful completion of service , Community Health Worker Certification , Living Allowance , Training .
