Director, Portfolio & Business Analysts Lead

Job Purpose:

As Director – Portfolio and Business Analyst Lead, you will develop and lead a group Business Analysts within the Clinical Laboratory & Assay Portfolio department with the goal to enable the department to operate and deliver in focused, timely and compliant manner on the organization strategic objectives. It will focus on providing global overview on portfolio demand vs CL&AP capacity to allowing prioritization and strategic clinical testing outsourcing. The role will also be a key support to the vaccine project teams by providing CL&AP resources and budget forecast.

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accountable to provide to Clinical Laboratory & Assay Portfolio (CL&AP) management a consolidated overview on planning activities, delivery date, budget review & annual forecast and timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts

  • Provide expertise in large scale project management by providing priorities, guidance and best practices to other Portfolio Integration business analysts. Manage relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date through various interactions with CL&AP and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and lead a team of Portfolio Integration Business analysts to allow strategic Portfolio alignment and prioritization.

  • Partner with R&D teams, notably R&D Strategy & Portfolio and Strategic Business.

  • Be aware of clinical and epi studies strategies to ensure appropriate support from CL&AP and to identify business opportunities with support of TPO Lead team and CRT leader team.

  • Problem solving including multiple priorities, conflicting and/or inaccurate data as well as evaluating alternatives and then propose the most viable solutions to CL&AP leadership team.

  • Support preparation of Monthly Assay Portfolio Prioritization Review Board and support consolidation of CL&AP recommendation and prioritization trade-offs in collaboration with platform units, CRT-L and key R&D partners.

  • Manage the financial and resources forecasting/planning processes (OPEX, resources capacity management for clinical studies programs, EPE/IPE) and review exercices according to financial calendar.

  • Develop and maintain robust Performance management system (PowerBI, Planisware, Spotfire) and Portfolio overview to keep track on KPIs and maximize operational efficiency.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Master’s degree or a PhD in sciences or equivalent acquired through professional experience (Laboratory Science, Business Administration, Project Management ). 5 to 10 years’ experience R&D GSK Vaccines.

  • Good understanding of R&D organization. Ability to plan, design and execute activities that enable organization leadership to focus and manage key issues. Skill set that allows effective interactions with Clinical laboratory experts as well as partners across R&D.

  • Strong understanding of Vaccines R&D organization and clinical laboratory environment/processes (scientific and technical aspects, best practices, regulatory)

  • Excellent team and matrix leadership skills, dealing with multiple and diverse interfaces and networking.

  • Scope of interactions includes all Clinical Lab internal customers and strong interfacing across R&D groups.

  • Good people management & communication skills

  • Strong Interpersonal skills and internal/external networking skills.

  • Strategic vision, integrity, analytical and critical mindset. Intellectual rigor.

  • Project Management and Change Management skills (PowerBI, Spotfire, Planisware expertise is a clear plus)

  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to translate client business objectives and expectations to scalable solutions.

  • Aptitude for financial reporting

  • Fluent in English
