Geophysics Product Specialist - Latin America [Mexico]

Position Description: The GVERSE GeoGraphix® Product Specialist is a customer interfacing geoscience resource with multi-domain knowledge and understanding of exploration and production techniques. The resource primarily supports Business Development personnel contributing towards revenue generation, by facilitating technical demonstrations and fielding prospective/existing customer inquiries about product functionalities. The resource can interpret geoscience data, demonstrate geoscience concepts and well logs; Understands geological structures and features with respect to the oil cycle and demonstrates knowledge about petroleum resource plays.

Essential Job Functions:

Product Support

  • Provide, with an extensive knowledge of geoscience software, customer facing technical product expertise for client projects. Advise clients on technical needs and infrastructure based on project needs and areas of specialization.
  • Utilize technical, quantitative, and analytical skills to assess and troubleshoot client needs. Educate users on software features and troubleshoot issues for user support.
  • Effective contributor in the development of program specifications and the documentation for software modules.
  • Prepare applicable reports for management review.
  • Maintain continuous coordination with the Customer Success and Sales teams to meet user needs.
  • Participates in ongoing training to maintain understanding of software and its features/capabilities.
  • Assist in expanding user base in geoscience segments based on organizational goals.

Sales Support

  • Contribute towards competitor assessments by analyzing information and trends. Build rapport with prospective customers by providing technical information, explanations, and software demonstrations.
  • Assist in developing account opportunities by evaluating customer history, suggesting related and new items and explaining technical features.
  • Work jointly with sales team to ensure client needs are met and product deliverables maintain quality requirements.
  • Collaborate in revenue generation efforts in conjunction with the Sales team through product expertise in customer facing environments; Understand and interpret customer technical requirements and provide product feature information.
  • Participate in trade shows and promotional events as needed to contribute product expertise towards revenue generation goals.

Customer Success Support

  • Assist with evaluations, communicate new functionality added in each release to customers and provide relevant feedback to the product development team to improve the overall product functionalities.
  • Ability to recognize and analyze issues within the software or workflows being used by customers.
  • Prepares reference for users by writing workflow instructions.
  • Create geoscience workflows using GVERSE GeoGraphix® to deliver demos, presentations, and webinars. Aid sales team during evaluations.
  • Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Forward feedback received from customers related to enhancements and defects to concerned members of higher tiers.

Education and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related geoscience field.
  • 3-5 years’ of industry experience in a product management or customer interfacing role in the oil and gas industry using GVERSE GeoGraphix® solution packages (Geology and/or Geophysics) or other or other Geoscience applications.
  • Working knowledge of geoscience data interpretation with the ability to articulate through strong communication/presentation skills in customer facing scenarios; Maintain corporate professional acumen.
  • Ability to deliver software training and presales demonstrations.
  • Effective understanding of seismic attributes and its application to different geological scenarios, petrophysical data, well data, formations and geological interpretation. Working knowledge of AVO, fluid substitution, velocity time relationships, well ties, and synthetics a plus.
  • Ability to pass GVERSE GeoGraphix® Certifications.
  • Attend educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies a plus.
  • Testing beta releases internally.
  • Understanding of Windows OS, file systems, network and database.
