Role – IT Service Owner


Our client is one of the largest Financial Institutions and Financial Services organizations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories.

About Role:

As an IT Service Owner, you will be responsible for the ongoing supply and support of an IT Service and provide a single point of contact for any inquiries related to the provision of the service.


Responsibilities:

  • Help to ensure service stability on production (work with the development team, infrastructure team, etc. to fix any ongoing or known issues) including successful operation and continuous improvement of service.
  • Report to the business information regarding service stability and ongoing issues, patching, and evergreening.
  • Accountable for maintaining effective control of the end-to-end application and service (which includes Dev; UAT; Production and Contingency)
  • Adhering to governance processes and ensuring compliance with all IT FIM requirements
  • Pro-active planning of service requirements (e.g., Evergreening, planning capacity upgrades), assisting with new initiatives that may impact the service and regularly communicating the benefits, risks, and performance of their service to the Business (Product owners)
  • Assist with Disaster Recovery exercise.
  • Monitoring contracts and payments for vendor-supported services.
  • Ensure that appropriate KPIs are identified for the service to help understand performance and forecast against these.
  • Ensure appropriate business system access controls are in place.
  • Ensure the appropriate support model is established, which may include 3rd party providers. ITSO will be responsible for maintaining support groups for the services they own.
  • Review and approve (or deny) production change requests relating to their IT Services.
  • Ensure Service Continuity plans are maintained and routinely tested.
  • Ensure Operation Level Agreements (OLAs) are reviewed and met.
  • Ensure problem resolution within the agreed timeline.

Must-Have Skillset:

  • At least 3 years experience working in either IT Service Management, Infrastructure or Software support or Project Management, Production Support role, or similar where the person was looking after living service.
  • Good knowledge of ITIL methodologies or can demonstrate the use of such – mostly in the area of SLM, Service Continuity, Information Security Management, Change, Incident & Problem management.
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of all components of an enterprise IT architecture and processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player and adaptable to change.
  • Desire for continual learning
  • Intensively driven, proactive and delivery focused.
  • Availability to work in different shifts, or be “on call” duty, to support a ‘follow the sun’ model if required.

Nice -To Have Skillset:

  • Experience in third-party management
  • Experience with cloud-hosted services (AWS, Azure)
  • Basic knowledge of technologies like Java / JVM and SQL, UNIX, Windows, Oracle DB, MQ, and Web application servers’ architecture
