As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an IT Operations Support Specialist with experience in liaising with Procurement, raising requisitions and resolving related issues.
This is an initial contract running for 4 months with strong likelihood to extend on a long-term basis, with start date latest in September 2023.
Replacing a person moving to another role internally you would join the IT Operations Team and support IT operations related procurement activities – e.g. raising purchase orders within the Information Technology and Services unit coordinating with Procurement and Finance related to issues to do with invoices/purchase requisitions etc.
Acting as a bridge between the IT and procurement functions, the successful candidate needs to have knowledge of IT terminologies as well as familiarity with procurement and finance processes to be able to relay the requirements of the IT teams into procurement terms, ability to explain to finance what IT needs.

- Collect purchase order requirements and perform quality control/validation to submit into procurement system
- Prepare requisition requests for approval and submission
- Coordinating between IT and Finance to troubleshoot and resolve requisition, invoice and receipt issues
- Data housekeeping (Excel/SharePoint)
- Assist in Software Asset Management activities including creating and running reports and maintenance of the repository of license obligations.
In order to be considered for this role, you are a proactive project manager with good interpersonal skills and an understanding of IT and how it can help the business. You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
- Three to five years of experience in supporting operations in an IT department, acting as a liaison with Procurement related to IT purchasing activities
- Previous exposure to procurement and finance processes related to IT procurement
- Knowledge of ERP business process systems (such as Oracle Fusion, Service Now)
- Knowledge of Software Asset Management reporting tools (such as Flexera)
- Basic understanding of IT terminology
- Fluency in English
