Job Title: Doggy Daycare Assistant
Location: Lancaster
Are you passionate about dogs and looking for an exciting opportunity to work with them? We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Doggy Daycare Assistant to join our team at the Lounge Doggy Daycare, a part of the U.K.'s largest canine facility.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and interact with dogs in a safe and controlled environment
- Ensure the well-being, comfort, and happiness of all dogs in our care
- Monitor and maintain a clean and hygienic daycare facility
- Assist with feeding, grooming, and administering medications as required
- Organize and participate in playtime activities, ensuring dogs receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation
- Provide basic training and reinforce positive behaviour
- Communicate effectively with dog owners, providing updates on their pets' activities and behaviour
- Assist with the intake and discharge process, ensuring accurate record-keeping
- Collaborate with the daycare team to maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere for both dogs and their owners
Requirements:
- Genuine love and passion for dogs, with a good understanding of canine behaviour
- Previous experience working with dogs in a professional setting (e.g., doggy daycare, kennel, veterinary clinic) is highly desirable
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments confidently and safely
- Strong observational skills to identify signs of stress, illness, or aggression in dogs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with dog owners
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the physical demands of the role, including walking, bending, and lifting dogs of various sizes
- Flexibility to work on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends and holidays
- A positive attitude, patience, and the ability to work well in a team environment
