In your role you will be helping our broad range of clients by:
- Developing solutions for clients through undertaking substantial work streams in reserving and/or capital modelling projects, working with project leaders to understand overall priorities.
- Working autonomously on specific work streams, under the high-level guidance of a senior colleague, and overseeing the work of analyst-level colleagues.
- Participating in regular interaction with clients, and leading day-to-day client interaction on data, timescales and project progress.
- Recognising the importance of intellectual capital and innovation; proactively identifying innovation opportunities and working with others to prioritise this appropriately.
- Collaborating with a wide variety of people within the organisation in order to ensure best solutions to client needs, including with reserving, capital, pricing, portfolio management and claims colleagues in the UK and beyond.
- Producing insightful, client-ready reports / communications for review by senior project leaders.
- Working collaboratively on a range of projects / internal responsibilities and managing priorities appropriately.

Qualifications - External
The Requirements
Essential:
Essential:
- P&C insurance background, with three years of experience in an actuarial and/or analytical role (including one year of reserving experience) as a minimum
- Ideally nearly qualified or just qualified Actuary
- Strong working knowledge of reserving techniques
- Ability to make actuarial judgements and justify these judgements to senior colleagues
- An interest and aptitude for developing new ideas and techniques
- Strong communication skills in English (additional Arabic is a plus), particularly the ability to write client deliverables / reports in a clear, concise and appropriate style and present confidently
- Proactive, energetic, and can demonstrate being a “safe pair of hands”
- Good project management, task prioritisation and time management skills
- Willingness to travel to client site when required
Desirable:
- Experience of using ResQ, our market leading reserving software
- Strong working knowledge of London Market
- Capital modelling or validation experience
- An interest and aptitude for providing mentoring and/or other career development support to junior colleagues
- Experience of using Power BI
- Experience of writing and/or editing code in VBA, Python, SQL or PowerShell
