Reception Clerk [Canada]


 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The person in this position will receive product orders. He or she will be required to communicate regularly with certain departments, branches and suppliers to ensure efficient exchanges.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Receiving orders from various departments;

- Communication and negotiation with suppliers for returned goods;

- Day-to-day management and monitoring of orders;

- Maximising orders to minimise costs;

- Organising and managing product inventories;

- Receiving goods, unpacking, validating, checking prices and forwarding to the appropriate department;

- Ensuring security and access to the warehouse;

- Any other task related to the warehouse.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Individual workstation, standing at a workstation. Working hours are 40 hours / week day, Monday to Friday (1 hour for lunch) and may vary according to operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

- Minimum 1 year experience in receiving and dispatching goods;

- Good knowledge of simple arithmetic;

- Fluency in French and basic spoken and written English;

- Concern for and pride in a job well done;

- Ability to work quickly;

- Negotiation skills;

- Effective management of daily priorities;

- Ability to use judgement and project a professional image;

- Versatility and flexibility in carrying out tasks;

- Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

- Experience with suppliers.

- Negotiation skills.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Ability to communicate in English and French.
