Environment, Health and Safety associate at this level applies basic knowledge to monitor existing programs, conduct routine inspections, and provide general information on safety and environmental opportunities, the proper handling and/or storage of chemicals and waste products.
Scope
- Complete safety risk evaluation in all areas and develop plans to mitigate and/or eliminate those risks on site.

ExternalQualificationsStr
- Intermediate skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced preferred.
- Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently.

- Professional demeanor
- Experience
- Not required, but prior Internship experience is a plus.
- Education
- Current university student, majoring in (Ingenieria en Salud Ocupacional y Ambiente o Ingeniería en seguridad laboral e higiene ambiental), entering their Junior or Senior year.
- Completed course work in (coursework preference).

- Aspires to achieve a zero injury culture through visible support of the injury prevention and safety program
- Active facilitation or participation in safety meetings and training sessions
- Ensure required safety training is complete for all employees and maintain training records
- Assist organization in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities
- Conduct regular walk through safety inspections to identify hazards, document findings, recommend corrective actions and follow through to ensure corrections have been made
- Assist in establishing policies for preventive actions through studying accidents and potential risks in general work environments
- Investigate accidents, identify root cause, and assist in implementing corrective actions
- Track accidents on the monthly incentive log
- Maintain safety data sheets
- Perform other duties as assigned
