Taitara Mahi – Waste Minimisation Specialist
We are seeking someone who has the nuance and experience to engage with our community and business sector in the Heretaunga Hastings District.
You will be;
- Working with our waste minimisation team to ensure that deliverables in the Joint Waste Management and Minimisation Plan are achieved.
- A champion of behaviour change to shift the way people think about waste and their environment.
- A driven relationship builder, with the ability to maintain strong networks within our communities.
- Supporting and advising the business sector, empowering them to make positive changes to reduce waste.
This is an exciting time to join our team and delve into the expanding world of waste minimisation with big changes expected from central government in the coming years. You will also become an integral part of our Waste Minimisation team.
To be successful in this position you will:
- Have knowledge of resource recovery and waste minimisation.
- Share a passion for sustainability, the environment, and sharing this knowledge with others.
- Have experience building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of people.
- Have a high level of communication and engagement experience.
- Be experienced in delivering behaviour change programmes (not a must, but an advantage).
- Be self-motivated and be able to work in a team environment.
- Hold a cool and collected manner when working under pressure.
- Bring an innovative and proactive approach to solving problems.
