Position Overview:

The Product Manager plays a pivotal role in the pharmaceutical industry by overseeing the development, marketing, market preparation, product launch, and lifecycle management of pharmaceutical products. This role involves strategic planning, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a deep understanding of both the pharmaceutical market and regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy Development: Develop and execute strategic plans for pharmaceutical products, aligning with company objectives, market trends, and customer needs.

2. Competitive intelligence and market analysis: Identify trends, competition, and customer preferences. Analyze market data once available, to make informed decisions about product positioning and potential opportunities.

3. Market Preparation and Launch: Plan and execute effective strategies for market preparation and product launch. Be a key member in launch plans, including promotional materials, messaging, and promotional tactics to generate excitement and drive product adoption.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including medical, regulatory affairs, digital, market access, to ensure successful product leverage, launch, and ongoing management.

5. Regulatory and Compliance: Stay up to date with company SOP, local regulations and guidelines to meet all legal and compliance standards. Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to approve materials as required.

6. Product Lifecycle Management: Monitor the product's performance throughout its lifecycle. Make data-driven decisions regarding products co-positioning, enhancements, or unmet needs based on market feedback, sales data, and evolving industry dynamics.

7. Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and customers to gain insights and feedback to achieve targets and guarantee launch excellence.

8. Financial Management: Track product budgets and expenses, act according to procurement SOPs.

9. Performance Analysis: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of product initiatives and use insights to refine strategies for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences area. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) are often preferred.

  • Few years of experience in product management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, regulatory processes, and compliance requirements.

  • High ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Analytical mindset, capable of interpreting complex data and market trends.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement.

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to navigate challenges and identify opportunities.
