We are looking for a full-time research associate (m/f/d) in the field of digitalization and data connectivity of production systems
The Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management (iwb) at the Technical University of Munich is one of the leading production technology institutes in Germany. We are doing research in the field of production manage-ment and logistics, machine tools, assembly technology and robotics, sustainable production, battery production, as well as laser technology. Within these fields, the research associates (m/f/d) engage in research, teaching, and industrial transfer with the goal of obtaining a doctoral degree.
Requirements:
- Above-average degree in mechanical engineering, physics, computer science, automation technology, mecha-tronics, or related disciplines
- Interested in production technology
- Enthusiasm for the supervision and programming of technical systems
- Determination and ability to work independently
- Creativity and joy of experimentation
- Team and communication skills
- Excellent English language skills, basics of the German language
Responsibilities:
- Research on the digitalization of production technology
> Intelligent, application-oriented data aggregation, and development of information models
- Socially significant project topics, e.g., the first project will be in the field of electromobility
- Use of the latest methods, software development approaches, and of artificial intelligence
- Independently working on research and industrial projects
- Guiding and supporting students in their study projects
- Teaching in the field of production technology
We offer:
- Full-time position as research associate with the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree
- Payment based on the Collective Agreement for the Civil Service of the federal states (TV-L)
- A large and well-equipped test field for conducting practical research work and implementing own ideas
- Modern workplace equipment (e.g., new IT equipment upon entry, height-adjustable desks, headsets) and ac-cess to high computing power at the iwb and the Leibniz Rechenzentrum (LRZ)
- Support from research-supporting staff in everyday research activities (project administration, mechanical manufacturing, electrical and measurement technology, IT/system administration, marketing, and graphic de-sign)
- Comprehensive personnel development program covering topics such as self and time management, commu-nication skills, team development, burnout prevention, and structured research work
- Support for the time after your academic career: Test field and office space for startups, job application train-ing, maintenance of an extensive alumni network by the iwb e. V.
