Location: We support US virtual working arrangements in the contiguous 48 states.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director, Compensation, the Compensation Consultant will support Sun Life US and global compensation initiatives through analysis, research, and the delivery of compensation programs and processes.

How you will contribute:

  • Provide compensation support to HR Business Partners related to the delivery of compensation programs, processes, and business initiatives.

  • Play a key role in supporting HR Business Partners during the annual pay cycle by providing insights, analysis, and recommendations.

  • Responsible for all sales plan administration including guarantee management, tracking, and reporting.

  • Lead compensation related projects or work streams and seek optimization and process improvement opportunities.

  • Evaluate jobs using Sun Life’s career framework and job evaluation methodology.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Participate in salary surveys and the maintenance of market data.

  • Organize and facilitate all Workday related changes in support of the US Compensation team.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate sales compensation programs and required reporting.

  • Develop understanding of available and relevant data and perform analysis to develop data driven compensation recommendations.

What you will bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Completion or progress toward CCP designation preferable

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel (e.g., spreadsheet analysis, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, IF statements, pivot tables, formulas, formatting, etc.)

  • Experience with Workday and compensation analysis tools and software desired

  • Working knowledge of broad based compensation, sales compensation, and related regulations and compliance requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Excellent initiative to plan and manage work independently, including proactively solving problems and identifying ways to improve work processes and practices

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and with the ability to translate complex data into insights and recommendations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

  • Southern region: $64,800 - $97,200 annually

  • Central region: $68,300 - $102,500 annually

  • Northern region: $73,000 - $109,600 annually


If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $61,800 - $92,800 annually


If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,600 annually.


If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $68,300 -$102,500 annually.
