Coding Specialist
Job Summary:
The Coding Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all patient information is accurately coded and communicated to the billing department, insurance companies, physicians, and patients in a timely and accurate manner. The Coding Specialist will work closely with the billing department to ensure all coding requirements are met. The Coding Specialist will also review and approve coding of new patient records.
Essential Job Functions:
·Review and approve coding of new patient records.
·Maintain accurate records of all coding requirements.
·Communicate with insurance companies regarding patient accounts.
·Communicate with physicians regarding patient accounts.
·Maintain files for all coding requirements.
·Maintain knowledge of coding standards and practices.
·Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:
·High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent experience of (3) three to (5) years with a stable work history preferred.
·Knowledge of ICD 10 Coding preferred; or ability to learn.
·Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat is a plus.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
