Job Summary: Provide the first impression of the restaurant by warmly greeting and welcoming all guests. Control the room flow by assisting guests to the table in a timely fashion.

Job Details:
  • Seasonal, full-time positions available at multiple venues at Palisades Tahoe
  • Role starts at $21 hourly

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:
  • Provide customers with top quality customer service in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Greet each guest, answer questions, provide menus Coordinate and maintain the seating of the dining room with wait staff levels and guest requests in mind.
  • Calculate and inform guests of wait time for tables when necessary Answer phones, check and respond to messages
  • Communicate with wait staff, cooks and manager about guest needs, business levels as needed.
  • Perform various side work duties that help improve the efficiency of the dining experience. These include but are not limited to: assisting wait staff, clearing tables, running drinks, clearing and setting tables.

Competencies and Job Requirements:

Required:
  • Effective communication skills, oral & written Strong sense of customer service & safety awareness Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Neat & clean appearance in compliance with the company grooming standards Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time Work well as part of a team. Able to remain patient, calm and composed in a fast paced, high volume demanding environment.

Preferred:
  • Knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu, restaurant and Palisades Tahoe or be able to locate information.

Education and Experience:

Required:

Must have or be able to obtain a California Food Handlers card.

Preferred:

High School Diploma or GED One to three months experience in food service or customer service

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, see, and hear. Must be capable of walking or standing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions.

Hazardous Materials/Noise: The noise level in the work place is usually loud.
