AFRY Management Consulting is seeking to hire an Analyst to join our Energy sector team in Beijing. This is a starting-level opportunity to join a dynamic team experiencing rapid growth and working on some of the most challenging issues in energy markets in China and globally.
The successful candidate will be engaged on a broad and continuously evolving range of complex projects providing insights and quantitative analysis on China’s and global energy markets, in support of AFRY’s global and domestic client base.

Job Title: Analyst, Transaction Service, EnergyLocation: Beijing
Reporting line: Principal, MCD China
Main responsibilities:
- Work within international, multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of energy market consultancy engagements;
- Conduct data research, database management and run AFRY’s in-house cutting-edge BID3 China electricity market model;
- Provide written input for study reports in Word or PowerPoint in English and/or (Mandarin) Chinese;
- Conduct market research and analysis on a broad range of energy sector topics;
- Occasionally support in the development of materials for competitive bids.

- Master’s degree in Energy Economics, Economics or Mathematics, or other relevant fields;
- Fluent written and spoken English and (Mandarin) Chinese, other regional language skills are a plus;
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; Experience with database software such as Access or SQL server is also advantageous;
- Internships or some practical work experience in energy, consulting or finance is advantageous;
- (Experience with Python, R, C Sharp, or Mosel is advantageous but not required).
